This city… Where I’m sitting at a little wooden table with equally little metal chairs…
It really isn’t that big.
The sidewalk houses cigarette butts. Tattered business cards. Sixty-year-old homeless men “just trying to get to McDonalds.”
All things discarded.
An overly loud Harley cranks beside those sharing this sidewalk with me. And everyone jumps.

In a funk
There haven’t been many times in my life during which I’ve been in a funk.
But this is one of them.
I feel completely ridiculous for being in said funk.
I have so much for which to be thankful.
A beautiful home. A loving partner. An adorable wigglypup. A great family who loves and supports me. A home church family who — no matter how long I stay away — welcomes me...

I don't believe this is a return from my hiatus....
Whenever I set my alarm clock for a wake-up call, I have to set it for an “off” number. Never something “normal” like 6:30 or 7:15 … But instead, I will opt for 6:33 or 7:17.
Tomorrow morning? 7:32.
And that’s the way it is.

y'all. i am so serious. ruby IS sexy.
Okay. I know this may come as a major shock to some people.
She is the goofiest dog on the planet most of the time… but… BUT… she really acts like she’s trying to be sexy quite often! It’s BIZARRE!
She walks like a cheetah going after some prey… and lies down in this come hither pose ALL the time.
I made the mistake (mistake???) of trying to imitate...

these are my essential truths of blogging
Because very recently, this space has begun to attract some new kinds of attention, I want to welcome my new readers (thank you for finding me interesting enough to hang out here for a while) with a little introduction of my own.
This is what you will find in this space. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
There are several tabs at the top of my page. Each one represents a large part of me,...

My dear friend Kate, never have I ever doubted you’d always remain true to who you are. That is the greatest thing we can all strive to do: be authentic with ourselves, and hopefully as a result, with the rest of the world.
I commend you. Every ounce of your being.
And thank you (once again, because you do it all the time) for putting words into this world which so accurately reflect...

Dear Tumblr,
I cannot quit you because… will you just look? I don’t think there are words.
But if I had to choose words, they would be: love. joy. acceptance. laughter. hugs. Emily. Kate.
Love,
Lindsay

Dear Tumblr,
I cannot quit you because you brought me FABULOUS girls, with FABULOUS homemade guacamole! (Thank you, Carmine, for teaching me exactly how to pick out the perfect avocado!)
Seriously. Girls and guac. What could be better?
Love,
Lindsay

On blogging.
Blogging is such an interesting experience for me.
This little spot on the Internet started nearly two years ago… when I was less than thrilled with my professional challenges, emotionally sorting through the wounds that come with the death of a long-term relationship and the soaring wings of a newer, better one, and looking for a place to store little tidbits of joy.
For me. This space...

This is a sideways video of someone I love very much.
My little Jessie. Who is moving to Baltimore this week.
This is Jessie doing a REALLY darn good imitation of Jake’s and my wigglypup, Ruby-scoobs. You see, Ruby can’t seem to keep her eyes and ears still — she might rest for just a moment, but chances are really good she’ll be perking up and looking in all possible...
